When I first started, I was juggling a demanding career, a young family, and a bank balance that didn’t exactly scream “property investor”. But I knew something had to change because relying on one income stream wasn’t freedom.
INTRODUCING ME, AND THIS IS MY STORY
I followed all the conventional wisdom.
I didn’t come from money, so I did what I was told would lead to success; worked hard, went to university and built an international career in financial services.
On paper it looked great: I had the title, the income, the security. But in reality I was commuting over two hours each way to a job while my baby girl spent full days in nursery.
I wanted freedom. Flexibility. More time with my daughter.

TIME WAS SCARCE
Between work, nursery runs and everday chaos, I barely had a spare minute. But I refused to let “no time” be the reason I didn’t start. I used every pocket of my day: listening to training on my commute, time-blocking my calendar and even taking my daughter along to viewings in her car seat!

I was terrified of what people would think, that I’d fail or that I wasn’t “the type” to be an investor. Yet, when I started sharing what I was learning, something incredible happened... strangers offered to back my deals. Raising finance from people I’d never met before brought me the power of confidence and clarity.

RISK FELT REAL
I worried constantly about making a mistake or losing money. But instead of letting that fear stop me, I learned how to analyse deals properly, mitigate risk and build a team that had my back.
Each lesson made me stronger, and every small win built unstoppable momentum.
When in 2020 I faced personal setbacks during my divorce, being the victim of a scam and cowboy builders that was when everything I’d been building suddenly mattered more than ever.
My property portfolio, not the government or my career, became my safety net, the thing that kept me financially afloat whilst I took a pause to deal with life’s tough tests.
